Minister of State for Investments, the Hon Khaalis Rolle was the featured speaker at the Press Conference officially announcing plans for The Bahamas’ hosting of the United Nations SIDS Symposium. The Bahamas Government is hosting the three-day event with support from the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) under the theme, “Implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda in Small Island Developing States (SIDS): Equipping public institutions and mobilizing partnerships”.

The Foreign Ministry is the national agency that works with the U.N., and Minister Mitchell pledged his Ministry’s support and assistance in ensuring the success of the Symposium.

The Local Organizing Committee meets regularly to plan and execute the arrangements for the hosing of this year’s U.N. SIDS Symposium. The LOC comprises the Planning Committee from the Office of the Prime Minister, LOC Team Members and representatives from the various Government Agencies.
